Scheduling
You can contact one of our locations by phone to make your first appointment. Our friendly receptionist will be happy to answer your questions and will email a link to the New Patient Orientation outline which you are required to read and sign before scheduling your first visit. Please make sure to check the box to the left of each section verifying that you’ve read and understand it, then sign at the bottom and click submit. As soon as we receive your signed orientation form, our front office will call you to schedule your first appointment.
Typically, the first appointment takes about an hour, so plan accordingly.
First Visit
You should plan to be fasting for your first appointment, as we will most likely be drawing blood for laboratory testing. Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time to fill out our new patient paperwork if you have not already done so. Although we do not utilize insurance for office visits and other services, it is still very important you bring your insurance information with you. The majority of the laboratory testing is still submitted to your insurance company.
Just like any other medical office, we like to know about your medications, health history, and family history; but our providers take it a step further and really get to know you on a personal level. You won’t be just a name to us. You’ll be a story that we remember as we are developing your treatment plan, and we will enjoy watching that story change and evolve throughout your time under our care.
After meeting with the provider for a clinical assessment, you will be meeting with one of our certified health coaches for a dietary intake and lifestyle assessment. This is what truly allows us to better understand how to direct treatment in a personalized way that is specific to your needs. At check out, you will make your next appointment in 2 to 3 weeks to discuss your results and treatment plan.
Second Visit
This visit does not require you to be fasting! You will again meet with your provider to discuss your laboratory results. The panel is usually quite extensive and can sometimes be a little overwhelming! But our providers are well versed in the laboratory testing and will walk you through every detail step-by-step. So come ready to learn! Bring a notepad… or another set of listening ears!
Depending on your symptoms and laboratory results, you may again meet with our certified health coach at this visit as well. She will be collaborating with your provider to put into action whatever treatment plan fits you best. Please plan an additional 30 to 45 minutes for this.
If you are interested in hormone replacement therapy, and are an appropriate candidate based on your laboratory results, you can also expect to have your first pellet insertion done at this visit. This usually takes an additional 15 to 20 minutes.
What’s Next?
After the second visit, your subsequent follow up appointments will be determined by the provider and are based on your treatment plan.
